Nadia and Carol
Nadia Comaneci (Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej, now Onesti) Romanian Gymnast born 12 November 1961. She was the first Romanian to receive a score of 10 in the Olympic event. Bela Karrolyi was the Romanian gymnastics coach who later became her coach later on, discovered her at age six. She first competed at the championships for juniors from Romania in 1969, she was 13th. Then in the year 1970, she was crowned champion. The first time she competed in an international meet in an Olympic-style junior preolympic competition that was open to countries of the communist bloc, she won 3 gold medals. Then in 1973 and 1975, she was named the all-around Junior Champion. When she competed for the first time in senior level, Lyudmila Turkishcheva of Russia won five gold medals aswell being awarded a silver. In 1976 she became the world's first woman to use a backwards-double salto to dismount from parallel bars. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. The journey of Carol Wayne to the world of entertainment started in her teens. Along with her twin sister Nina Wayne, she joined the traveling entertainment show called Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne was born on September 6, 1942, on the 6th of September 1942 in Chicago Illinois US. Carol ventured into the world of entertainment during her teenage years. Early on she was a figure skater on the show Ice Capades with her sister Nina Wayne. Ice Capades showcased performances of skating on ice with actors.
